Seneca has a mayor-council form of government with eight council members and mayor elected at large for two-year terms. A full-time planning staff is responsible for activities, and industrial, economic, and community development.
Oconee County is governed locally by a council-supervisor form of government with the five members elected from specific districts and the supervisor elected at large. All offices are for four-year terms. The County Seat is Walhalla.
